Voters had five ballots to choose from Tuesday, and according to County Clerk Wes Wagner, the choices were more evenly split along major party lines than during previous primary elections. . .

The twenty fourth edition of the monthly Art Walk in Ste Genevieve, Missouri, is slated to commence at 6 PM on Friday, June 26 in the downtown's charming historic, colonial district.  The backdrop of the colonial French creole houses and the later early American houses is perfect for the one dozen art spaces which invite visitors each month.  Refreshments are found at many of these art openings. . .

Just the thought of going after a BEAR with a bow gives some the chills! Some say you’re crazy; black bears climb trees, run short distances faster than a horse, can crush bones with the force of their jaws like pop corn. No matter; you’re a bow hunter and with that come some amount of risk, even death! Bow hunters have the opportunity to see animals in the wild like no other, study nature and the animal’s habits undisturbed.

April 29th was a busier than usual Thursday night at Andrew's French Quarter in Crystal City when the restaurant became the first ever in Jefferson County to participate in "Dining Out for Life," a fundraiser for St. Louis Effort for AIDS. . .

Historic Caveland in Festus, Missouri held it's first concert in a long time.  A Los Angeles based band named Gooding ( http://www.GoodingMusic.com ) played a huge set to the delight of over 100 people invited to the event.

Arnold City Park's 68-acre lake set the backdrop for the Jefferson County Tea Party Rally on Saturday.  During gusts of wind, the fountain misted the crowd, a welcome refreshment on a bright, sunny day.  People set up lawn chairs in an orderly semi-circle facing the pavilion while others wandered and chatted, many carrying flags, signs and banners, waiting for organizer Ken Horton to introduce the speakers. . .
