The newest additions to the Art Walk, the Linden House and the LeMeilleur House Gallery, are colonial houses owned and managed by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. This month, those spaces are featuring the art of Grant Kniffen. Kniffen, an art teacher and track coach. . . read more...

The road into Pace Construction Company’s asphalt plant in Antonia leads through a man-made canyon that emerges into a breathtaking quarry. Snow paints patches of the rocky landscape. Cliffs dwarf enormous yellow dump trucks and heavy equipment, which in turn dwarf SUV’s and people. Future generations might someday treat this place like a natural wonder. Monday Feb. 15, US Rep. Russ Carnahan toured the Antonia plant. Pace employees and representatives from Innoventor, Inc. spoke with the congressman about their progress developing a new type of asphalt binder that recycles swine manure. . . read more...

I listen to Johnny Ames, whose name has been changed in response to his request for anonymity, as he darts from one topic to another in the same random way that a grasshopper goes from point A – to - Y- to - G- covering a vast expanse of grass blades. Ames used to work two jobs. One of passion and art. . . read more...
