McCord, Jr., 64, of DeSoto passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City. Born February 12, 1946 in Chicago Heights, Illinois; he was the son of the late Harold A. and Helen (Powers) McCord,Sr. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Ruby M. (Dunn) McCord of DeSoto. Mr. McCord was lead man-fitter at Ben Hur Steel Worx making steel beams. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved spoiling his grandkids. Mr. McCord was the dear father of: Jestina (Dennis) Denton, Helena, Montana and Christine (Terry) Lewis of Arnold, Missouri; dear grandfather of Frank and Cassandra Walker, Brittain & Matthew Ketcherside,and Nichole Welch, and dear great-grandfather of Nicholas Ketcherside. He was the dear brother of George (Jackie) McCord, Columbia, MO, Harry McCord, Collinsville, IL, Bruce (Jane) Sweetin, of Savannah, Georgia, Alvin Skinner, Toledo, Ohio and Barbara Walker of Fredericktown, Missouri. He is also survived by mother and father-in-law, Ray and Leota Dunn of DeSoto; sister-in-law, Patricia Mordis, of DeSoto, Missouri and special friends Dennis and Cindy Samnee of DeSoto and Donnie Littlefield of Festus and Dave Wills of DeSoto. Bro. Dave Berry will officiate the service.
