She and her late husband, Andrew J. Backy, Sr had been owner/operators of the Petit Paree Restaurant where she had been the cook up until her recent illness. Born March 8, 1923, in Crystal City, MO, to the late John and Elizabeth (Schweigert) Godier. She is survived by sons: Marty (Christy) Backy of Conway, AR, Michael (Christine) Backy of Crystal City, MO, Anthony Backy of Park Hills, MO; daughters: Carla McGraw of Crystal City,MO, Cathy (Dean) Vogelaar of Steamboat Springs, CO, Beverly (John) Wagner of St Louis, MO and Mary Hogan of AR; brother, Robert (Nancy) Godier of Festus, MO; sister-in-law, Bernice Godier of Oroville, WA; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by sons: William Backy, Andrew Backy, Jr and Thomas Backy; daughter, Candy Carrow; brothers: Irvan (the late Vera) Godier, Raymond Godier and John (the late May) Godier; and sisters: Evelyn Godier and Irene Godier. At 60 yrs old she took lessons and learned to play the piano. She enjoyed the broadway musical theater, reading, taking walks, going to the movies but cooking was her passion.
