Memorials/Donations Obituary Richard L. Michalsen,81 of DeSoto, passed away in DeSoto on April 19, 2010. Born March 29, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois; was the son of the late Caroline Schwartz. His wife, Nina M. Michalsen preceded him in death. Richard served in the US Army during Korea Era. He was a forman for Southwest Steel company in St. Louis. He loved to fish and sitting on his porch getting tan. Mr. Michalsen is survived by three daughters: Vicki (Johnny) Ivory of Ohio, Patricia (Rob) Michalsen of DeSoto and Jacquline Beling of St. Louis, MO; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vivian Varga of Wisconsin. Along with his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Bob, and Howard Michalsen and two sisters.
