This weekend, murders play out at the Dunklin R-V Theatre in Herculaneum High School's student production of John Bishop's "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940." . . .

Jefferson County’s Jacqueline (Kohl) Wann is one of ten finalists in WIL’s Cornbread Idol contest, and she hopes to find support from her neighbors between now and Sunday while online voting remains open.  If she wins the competition, she’ll be on her way to Nashville in November to compete there, too.

Historic Caveland in Festus, Missouri held it's first concert in a long time.  A Los Angeles based band named Gooding ( http://www.GoodingMusic.com ) played a huge set to the delight of over 100 people invited to the event. 

Crowds flocked through the sprawling carnival, riding for thrills and questing for giant plush trophies in aisle-after-aisle of games at the Jefferson County Fair Thursday through Sunday.  Fans filled the bleachers of the Edward Jones Arena for the tractor pull, demo derby, and sky diving events.
