Our country is in a deplorable state. Americans like to blame Obama, Bush, or the “other Party.” They email political jokes and spiritually uplifting pictures. They praise the troops for risking their lives overseas for our 'Freedom'. Although we claim to have government of, by, and for the people, very few seem willing to do or risk much to preserve freedom here at home. 
 
     It’s time we recognize that Washington has been taken over by International Bankers and a Corporate elite. The federal government no longer represents ‘We the People’. Thanks to our Congress, everything we used to manufacture is now "Made in China". Democrats in Congress are preparing to pass a Cap n Trade carbon tax on our de-industrialized, jobless country and its devastated electorate. Our President and Congress maintain unsecured borders to allow an invasion of drugs, crime and low wage workers into our country. This week, Congress gave a standing ovation to President Calderone of Mexico for condemning Arizona’s effort to stop that invasion. Caldreone, addressing Congress, called for a renewal of the assault weapons ban, a violation of our 2nd Amendment.
 
     Congressional Republicans still think the trillion dollar undefined war and the disaster of free trade, shipping our technology and industry readymade to communist business partners in China, are ‘good things”? Eight out of nine Missouri members of Congress voted to renew the Patriot Act, a violation of our Fourth Amendment right to privacy. 
 
     There are some who are sacrificing on our behalf. The Constitution Party held a statewide meeting in Columbia where many candidates spoke. These are ordinary people supporting families. Some are retired, and most have little extra money. They feel compelled to run for office, knowing that time for freedom is running out.  They don't trust either major party.  A few Representatives in the State House are trying to preserve freedom in accordance to the Constitution by reminding the federal government of our state sovereignty. All these people need citizen support.
 
     There is no time for emailing and hand wringing to stop the downward spiral of our country. If we don't act now, we are on course to lose our freedom. Everyone can do something. This is a battle for freedom.  Every American has a duty; no one is a privileged spectator.
