On Thursday Nov 4, 2010, State Senator and President of the Missouri Senate Rob Mayer, R-Dexter, unveiled his bold, new agenda to create good paying jobs in Missouri.  He stated that right-to-work (for less) will be a key part of his plan. . .

I like having two major political parties competing for my vote—I relish the freedom to switch sides at will or split my vote down the middle and vote for issues.
 
     I strongly oppose a new bill now in committee - HR 4646, known as the Debt Free America Act. It strives to tax ALL financial transactions

This is a hot topic of discussion and although there is much controversy surrounding the subject of immigration, and illegals, there is only one stance to take. The stand of the constitution. . .

As you wade through the wreckage of the American economy, know that those responsible for this mess are already positioning themselves to profit from your misery again.

     Our country is in a deplorable state. Americans like to blame Obama, Bush, or the “other Party.” They email political jokes and spiritually uplifting pictures. They praise the troops for risking their lives overseas for our 'Freedom'. Although we claim to have government of, by, and for the people, very few seem willing to do or risk much to preserve freedom here at home. . .
 

A great deal of reporting has focused on public health. In 2006, the CDC reported that over 2.4 million deaths occurred in the U.S.  Nearly half of these were attributed to two causes, 631,636 due to heart disease and 559,888 due to cancer. Stroke was ranked third at 137,119 deaths and chronic lower respiratory diseases fourth at 124,583 deaths.  Although arguably, there are costs associated with poor lifestyle choices, Constitutional freedom limits government's control of citizen behavior. 
 

     I would like to let the voters in the Northwest R-1 School District know that they lost a valuable board member on April 6th.  He was dedicated to doing the best job for the district, with no personal agenda.  He was more than qualified for the position on the board, and an asset to the district statewide. His name is Nelson Weber. . .

     I just picked up on the article by Deborah Sleeper on turning hog manure into asphalt, and I would say Ms. Sleeper is well-named.  Perhaps she could wake up long enough to notice the basic idiocy of her story and the people she is writing about. . .

The Tea Party came to Arnold last weekend and attracted a crowd of polite, freedom-loving Americans with a common theme, “We can no longer trust government.”
 
     This so-called “non-partisan” event hosted many Republican speakers but did allow one Democrat and one Constitution Party speaker.  I had hoped to see a more balanced agenda. 

So it is done. Congress has taken from the people yet another freedom. They swore to protect the Constitution and instead, they have each plunged a knife into the heart of that sacred document. We have therefore moved one step closer to becoming a socialist nation under the rule of a tyrannical government. Masking this transition under the guise of “helping the people”, those in Congress have deemed themselves of greater wisdom than the average American by passing the Health Care Bill of entitlement. . .

Since 2005, Arnold, a city of 20,000, has issued more than 19,000 red light camera tickets totaling nearly $1.9 million. A public vote on the matter was blocked by the City Council. Traffic surveillance cameras have always been voted down by the people. . .

Government has crossed the line. No warrant has been issued to force millions of air passengers, every day, to empty their pockets, take off their shoes and step into machines, raise their hands and surrender to naked full-body scan electronic photo images of themselves, prior to boarding a flight in America. Contrary to our judicial system, there is no doubt here that the assumption is, ‘guilty until proven Innocent’. . .
