Tanglefoot will donate part of your expenditures to JOIN-N

AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU.

You enjoyed a delicious dinner and Tanglefoot made a donation to JOIN-N.

In 1997, a small group of citizens met at Jefferson College with a vision to create an organization dedicated to keeping the citizens of Jefferson County informed via the Internet of services and information available to them.  Since that first meeting, JOIN-N - Jefferson County Online Information Network http://www.jeffersoncountyonline.org/ has evolved into a community information network for county residents and folks seeking information about Jefferson County before moving here.

Website visitors can obtain free information about community services, education, entertainment and recreation, government, health and wellness, Jefferson County history, kid-friendly sites, libraries, obituary and genealogy information, pet adoption and rescue, business resources, news media and much more.  From January to August 2008, 79,000 visitors took advantage of this wealth of information.  People from around the world visit the obituary section.  The mission of JOIN-N is to provide the Jefferson County community with an electronic information infrastructure that is accessible, interactive, purposeful, and committed to the enhancement of communications among individual citizens, community groups, business organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions.

The Calendar of Events is a great place to find out about civic and social events in Jefferson County.  Organizations are encouraged to e-mail their upcoming events to join-n@sbcglobal.net; this will help groups avoid conflicts in scheduling major events.  Since its inception, JOIN-N is manned by a dedicated group of volunteers who work to keep the web site updated and are always looking for new information to post.

After Hurricane Katrina, JOIN-N was approached to help provide a link between service organizations and County government so they could share information with each other. JOIN-N, with the cooperation of Jefferson County Library, set up a temporary listserv that connected County government and service organizations.

An online Resource Directory is also available and is a comprehensive listing of over 250 community and social service agencies and churches (directory available in PDF and Microsoft Word formats).
Memberships help publicize the JOINN web site.  We encourage you to become a member of JOIN-N and share the vision to provide Jefferson County citizens with information about their county and the services available.

Bless you for your caring intervention and support of this man. It is people like you, who can look deeper than the initial assumption of the individual, who makes people like me, take a second look at how wealthy I am in my second-rate health, semi-happy marriage, and full-time job. You may want to check to see your city's public administrator can assist him with his living arrangements. My thoughts and prayers are for you both...

Maybe you should take it on yourself to be his advocate if you truly believe that his brain injury is responsible for his situation and not his own actions. I pray that he finds his way. From The Scribe: I am doing what I can to work with this man. I do not really care if he has a colored past or not. He is a man in need and from my experiance he is a harmless man in need. Did he ever do anything that may have "Deserved" his predictiment? I don't that that matters when I work with him. So far I would estimate some 40 hours of effort

Has he tried getting in contact with the Brain Injury Assoc. at 314 426-4024 to see if they can help get his disability and with anything else he needs. Also if he is so good with animals can he look for a job in a shelter or something like that? From The Scribe: He will be reviewing all positive ideas on this article. Thanks for your help.

I have known this man for over three years and this article is very accurate and correct! His thoughts (due to the brain injury) are scattered and hard to keep up with. I can see why it would be hard for him in interviews or any day to day function. I pray he gets the help needed and understand the procedure when explained to him.
