Hi everyone. I will try to elaborate more on this article. I have recieved a lot of questions regarding current technology. In particular the "Net Books", "XP Vs. Win.7" +++
Please do not spend more than 200.00 dollars on any computer that is 32 Bit. Your value will not hold up to the newer 64 bit systems. A simple parallel would be whe my industry changed from the 80486 ( 486 ) 16 Bit computers to the "Pentium" 32 bit. At first it was only for high end users. Then we saw the christmas pricing and within a year the old 486 was a paperweight. Not that several Unix based friends of mine did not have a lot of fun tying five or six machines togather to play with...
So when you call "Geek For Hire" or any other repair shop at home or other please KEEP IN MIND what the computer is worth.
I offer computer repair, The cost are simple. 75.00 if it is easy. 150.00 if it is hard and when it cost more than 150 we have to determine if the end result it worth it. Meaning we can buy most 32 bit computers up and running for 200.00 sometimes with a warrenty. So why spend 200 to have a kid reformat and build your computer back if you get only 7 days warrenty?
Good news, I saw a 64 Bit computer at Office Max for under 500.00 bucks. That is incredible. So things are looking good for the 64 Bit environment. The maximum memory on these computers alone makes them worthwhile.
I will flush this out a little more and repost. If you have any questions. Please feel free to contact me;
