Dear William,
Sharron Angle and Rand Paul are measuring drapes and choosing office furniture. And if that doesn't make your hair stand on end, you must not have any.
Republicans are telling voters and pundits that they've got this election won. They want Democrats to surrender. They want us sitting on our hands as they bring their crazy ideas to Congress.
They're right about one thing: They could win - and Paul and Angle could be setting our country's course - if we Democrats don't come together NOW. With fewer than 100 days until the election, we all need to support the DSCC so it can fight GOP lies, respond to attacks and get Democrats to the polls from Sacramento to Sarasota.
This election's not over by a long shot. Republicans may be taking their return to power for granted, but I sure as heck am not. And neither should you. We literally cannot afford to allow them to drive our country off a right-wing cliff.

One top Republican has admitted that the GOP agenda is Bush Take Two. Here are the precise words of a top congressional Republican when asked what the GOP would do if given power again: "We need to go back to the exact same agenda." If those ten words don't send a shudder down your spine I don't know what will. More debt, more deficit, more tax breaks for the wealthy, more special privileges for special interests, more letting Wall Street play Russian Roulette with our economy, more attempts to privatize Social Security, more plans to put insurance companies in charge of Medicare.
If you agree with me that America cannot afford to go back, especially not to the "exact same agenda" that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney used to wage war on the American middle class, I need your help.
Republicans will say anything - and spend anything - to win Senate seats. And they've got the money to make it happen. Republican-aligned groups are planning to spend jaw-dropping amounts - up to $300 million. And Sarah Palin's providing a honey pot for each of her "Mama Grizzlies."
No doubt, they've got a lot stacked in their favor. But so do we. We have passion - we proved that in 2006 and 2008. We have time - if we act NOW. And we have you. You will make the difference!

It's time to take the yardstick and fabric swatches away from Sharron Angle, Rand Paul and the Republican Tea Party Brigade. They haven't won. And they're not going to. We won't let them.
